Illinois Nutrition Education Programs' trained expert educator team can provide training opportunities for staff members and/or volunteers at your organization or school.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, many opportunities are temporarily shifting to a virtual format.

For details on the offerings available for different types of organizations, visit our Build Skills page here. Training opportunities are available for early childhood centers, emergency food locations, such as food pantries or food banks, and elementary, middle and high schools. Training topics are geared towards our goals focusing on improving the health of Illinois families:

  • Improve healthy eating and physical activity choices of limited-resource Illinois families to reduce the risk of chronic diseases
  • Increase access to healthy foods for Illinois families to reduce food insecurity
  • Create community collaborations and partnerships focused on obesity prevention
